Goonhilly Earth Station Ltd (‘Goonhilly’) is a trusted space technology company offering secure and reliable communication solutions from sites in the UK and USA. Building on decades of experience in the satellite communications industry, we offer services across three divisions: Lunar and Deep Space Communications, Commercial Satcom, and Defence and Security.

We are a privately-owned company, founded in 2009. In 2014, we acquired the iconic Goonhilly Earth Station site in Cornwall, UK, on a 999-year lease. The site has been the pioneering home of satellite communications since 1962 and, under our management, has been rejuvenated to provide world-class satellite and space communication services befitting the modern space age.

While we are still proud to be providing customers with secure and reliable commercial satcom services, we’ve not been afraid of venture into new markets, where our space communications expertise and innovative services have been met with high demand. Our rapid growth has been underpinned by a £24m investment from UK businessman Peter Hargreaves.

In 2021, we established the world’s first commercial lunar and deep space communications network, providing much-needed communications capacity to international space agencies and private companies venturing to the Moon and beyond.

In 2023, we established a US entity, Goonhilly Inc (dba COMSAT), and acquired the COMSAT Southbury and COMSAT Santa Paula teleports. Together, our two brands provide customers with over 120 years of satellite communication experience from both sides of the Atlantic.
